![]() ![]() The last thing an Enneagram 2 individual would like others to see in them is selfishness. They work hard and have the urge to make people in their surroundings feel comfortable and loved. Oh yes - hello from a Type 2 INFP, by the way. People with personality traits of enneagram 2 type contain generosity, empathy, and altruism in their behavior. ![]() Remember the 8 Axiom 'Judgement dilutes true human desire' it is also important for a successful resolution to this question to address youre definition of selfishness, and the morality (if any) behind. A barrier covers the confusion that surrounds actual intimacy with someone who can see them fully, separate from what they give. Some types will call 8s selfish because they may have negative feelings for 8s who are driven to get what they want. Since Type 2 and Type 4 are both Heart Types, there are likely many Type 2's who mistype as Type 4's. Twos are attracted to relationships with obstacles. The Type 4 seeks a sense of self-identity, and an individual might falsely think, "Well, with all of my delving into these personality systems, clearly I am a Type 4." The truth, however, is that one does not necessarily have to be a Type 4 to be a individualist, a romantic, or whatever other idealized figure since the Enneagram is truly about motivations and not profiles (I suspect that profiling is a bastardization of the original intent of the system) one does not necessarily have to actively seek individualism in order to be individualistic. Personality Types is the most complete, in-depth, systematic treatment of the nine types and the Enneagram system as a whole, and The Wisdom of the Enneagram provides the comprehensive guide to psychological and spiritual growth for the nine personality types. Perhaps people wish to manifest as an idealized version of who they want to be and see the nonconforming Type 4 Individualist as that figure. The Riso-Hudson Books offer the most complete type descriptions available anywhere. They do not process anything that seems to be dangerous or a problem This enneagram becomes completely numb and oblivious. They are not too uncommon in the real world, I imagine, but the way that the methodology of self-discovery of personality systems works will perhaps skew perceptions of who the individual intrinsically is, thus leading to mistypes.Įxample: Someone discovers that he or she is an INFP (a questionable conclusion in of itself due to inaccurate typings, but let us give this person the benefit of the doubt), then proceeds to read the INFP character profile and thinks, "Wow, that is me." Said person next discovers the Enneagram and reads the Type 4 profile, which seems to go hand-in-hand with the INFP character profile, eventually concluding that he or she is Type 4 without much time spent reconsidering. This is the stage when the type 9 enneagram has successfully blocked out anything that gives them stress family issues, friends and work problems are a complete no no area. ![]()
